Renovation Starts.......

this post will mark the start of our renovation journey which starts today, a preview of what had been done so far......

新的一年。。。。。。

1st of all, wishing everyone a very happy new year filled with laughter & good health =)..... finished my 2 weeks in-camp training on 31st dec, had an enjoyable time with my team, went for makan after our out pro & will be seeing them real soon again as the next in-camp should be in the 2nd quarter....

rach & i went for our bathroom shopping, bought lots of stuff at a bargain though our bathroom was already fully done up =p but some of it were just not to our liking......

went up to P@D with mum, 1st bro & da sao yesterday..... began our before-reno prayers after which we went up to the 50th skybridge which was fully operational (http://www.pinnacleduxton.com.sg/) , quite a crowd & we even saw a set of mediacorp crew filming..... tea break was at a coffee shop serving authentic coffee & toast along Keong Siak......

will be gng down to Balestier later in the afternoon to buy the one of the two main stuff that is left, lights! =)

The Wait Is Over...... =)

the wait is finally over for us as we collected the keys for our dream home today =), reached HDB around 10am though our appt is at 1110am, but we were being served around 1030am after settling our insurance stuff, a bonus for us cos it gng to be a long day for us..... took us around 45 mins to settle all the various documents & procedures before leaving for P@D, rach & i were so excited & happy when we insert the key to open up the door to our house which we had been waiting for so long =), 2nd bro join us in the afternoon to help us check for defects, fortunately there are only some minor stuff which can be rectified easily...... will be discussing the electrical rewiring & hacking this coming wed with our ID......

met up with ZL & YL for our annual christmas dinner on sat, decided to stay around JP as all of us were too lazy to go somewhere far.......

Best X'mas Gift =)

received a call this afternoon, to our surprise it was our CSM from HDB informing us that we will be able to collect our keys on 28th dec (coming monday).... yippie, rach & i were hoping to be able to get our keys before 2010 & our wish indeed came true, it was a totally surprise for us & is definitely the best christmas gift for the both of us........

a little back date to last sat where rach & i went over to check out the tiles we will be using for our bathroom together with our I.D, always wanted to have mosaic tiles for our bathroom & we were amaze by the many designs & colors that we saw..... a heads up for us as there are still a handful of stuff to check before finalising....

rach & i woke up early on tues morning to settle our "stuff" which took us 2 hours of needless waiting, anyway after which proceed to P@D, rach went up for the 1st time to the 50th sky bridge & she was fascinated =)...... afternoon was spent in orchard for our christmas shopping, rach & i will be attending 3 straight weekend weddings starting from this saturday...... & we will be the emcee for one of it.... =p

Finally got my foot into P@D today this morning, went with anthony after work & saw simon there, the three of us are staying the same block, 4 ATC guys staying there & one of my cousins too, was able to get into my own unit today, excited by the fact that this is the place where me & rach will call our own =)...... there is still that bit of stuff that is left to be completed on this long awaited project, the 26th skybridge is not quite ready & some of the common areas (eg food court, stores etc)...... sky garden on the 50th storey still have works to do, guess it will be another one to two months before everything is done......

Weekend Updates....

rach & i spent our weekend in orchard frm noon till night, 1st stop was @ tanglin mall as we wanted to have our lunch at Chili's, the restaurant that we frequent everytime whenever we were in m'sia...... had our all time favourite stuff, after lunch we proceed to walk down from Tanglin Mall -> Borders -> ION -> Taka -> Mandarin Gallery -> 313 @ Somerset -> Centrepoint -> Forum -> Tanglin Mall...... bought a few stuffs along the way, while both of us were tired after the long day of shopping but we truly enjoyed ourselves =).....

been quite a while since i last update the blog, the past few weeks have been quite busy...... was recalled last tues for afternoon duty before working morning again on wed, feeling a bit exhausted after working for 5 consecutive days, but the extra cash from the recall will be put to good use =), rach & me had a steamboat feast over the last weekend when dad & mum went Hanoi for vacation, we bought so many food that we barely finished half of it, blame it on my "kiasu-ness"....

HDB is finally releasing keys to residents & the 1st batch will be on the 13th with a symbolic key collection ceremony attended by MM Lee, though not one of the 50 balloted families, glad that the wait is finally over, was told by my customer service manager that i will be informed of the collection date by next week =)....... barely a month left before getting our keys

Weekend Updates.....

had our usual family makan today, this time was dim sum at Tien Court @ Copthorne King Hotel..... the food & service were good but the place felt abit too close for comfort..... after lunch, rest of them went back to Rivergate while me & rach proceed with our shopping, 1st stop was to Marina Sq -> Millenia Walk -> OM -> IMM...... bought our island counter stool @ OM, some of the photos we took today as below......
